How do you deal with a one trick pony?

What do you do when it's one trick gets too old and it fails to sell tickets? You could ship it off to the glue factory; or let it out into a field to retire gracefully? Or you could team it up with another one trick pony and see how a double act works?

Ladies and Gentlemen - I give you Jack Black and Michael Cera in YEAR ONE!

Jack Black has been playing the role of Jack Black for quite a while now so it's understandable that some people could be suffering from JB fatigue. Michael Cera on the other hand, is relatively new - mainly due to the fact that American TV audiences are cretinous Friends watchers who fail to see the genius in a programme as phenomenal as Arrested Development. His shtick; the stuttering, awkward virgin thing is fairly fresh to some people, but not to me.

I was quite shocked and disappointed really; this film has a huge wealth of comedy talent behind it featuring both Jack Black regulars and parts of the Apatow crowd yet it never really seems to get past turd jokes. Maybe it's a case of too many cooks spoiling the broth?
