A small community today declared themselves to be too melancholic to continue functioning effectively within society.
As a result they will no longer be allowed to trade with nearby communities at the risk of alienating them.
A spokeswoman bleated, "We cannot allow the collective unconscious to be tainted. We must condemn and ostracise."
More news on the melancholia will surely follow.
