TV Funnymen Ant McLoughlin and Dec McLoughlin have killed one another in an extraordinary double assassination which took place live on national television last night.
The 'chilled out' entertainers committed the act whilst presenting ITV's Children Do The Most Reprehensible Things.
The extraordinary coincidence occured after both men had decided, for unrelated reasons, to "take the other one out" live on air.
Sources close to Ant believe his motivation for killing Dec was down to a "professional jealousy" and the belief that Dec's fame outshone his own. He planned to pursue a career path "unburdened" by his TV partner's perceived greater popularity and wanted to take over and control ITV and the minds of its viewers.
Dec's gripe with Ant is understood to be centred around a furious row between the two Geordie Japesters in which Ant falsely accused him of being Catholic.
The duo's father Matthew Kelly was yesterday unavailable for comment, although he has confided in a friend that he believes the whole thing to be "a right bloody nonsense".
The duo leave behind them twelve children, including Kate Thornton and former boxer Guy Ritchie. The funeral takes place next week and is expected to be "twatty", according to a source close to the pair.
