The first in an inevitable series of Michael Jackson themed films will be released tomorrow.
In order to adequately frame that information, try to picture the decaying corpse of mediocre pop attached to flimsy wires and horizontal control-bars being made to sing falsetto platitudes by industry puppeteers. Voila; Marionette Jackson.
That is, of course, the same Marionette Jackson whose legacy somehow manages to simultaneously epitomise the concept of collective denial whilst undermining the notion of child abuse.
Objectivity fans are concerned that the cloak of officialdom and protectionism which clouds this film is constructed to inhibit impartial judgment and as a result are boycotting the film.
The contract was awarded to the producers by the Jackson Estate on the condition that: "Footage that paints Jackson in a bad light will not be permitted" and: "Under the terms of the proposed contract, the film will have to be screened for Jackson’s estate and cannot include anything that puts the superstar in a bad light."
That clause covers a fairly vast number of things. Including the fact that he named one of his children Blanket.
Blanket.
